[3G developr-li-2008-thesis.pdf.tar

Description: As a multi-carrier modulation scheme, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technique can achieve high data rate in frequency-selective fading channels by splitting a broadband signal into a number of narrowband signals over a number of subcarriers, where each subcarrier is more robust to multipath. The wireless communication system with multiple antennas at both the transmitter and receiver, known as multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, achieves high capacity by transmitting independent information over different antennas simultaneously. The combination of OFDM with multiple antennas has been considered as one of most promising techniques for future wireless communication systems.

[Program docChannel-Estimation-for-DBLAST-OFDM-Systems

Description: Abstract—Diagonal Bell Laboratories Layered Space-Time (DBLAST) structure offers a low complexity solution to realize the attractive capacity of Multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems. In this paper, we apply D-BLAST in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems and address the issue of channel estimation. Different other MIMO-OFDM, where symbols at all tones are always available for decision-directed channel estimation, in D-BLAST OFDM, we update estimated channel parameters each time a layer is detected with a least square (LS) approach, using a pieced combination of received signals at previous and current OFDM blocks. The initial estimate is further refined by a robust estimator to exploit the time correlation of channel parameters among OFDM blocks. Computer simulation results show the performance improvement over block-wise channel estimation. It is also shown that D-BLAST with proposed channel estimation is robust to fast fading of channel parameters.-Abstract—Diagonal Bell Laboratories Layered Space-Time (DBLAST) structure offers a low complexity solution to realize the attractive capacity of Multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems. Multiple-input multiple-output, or MIMO, is a radio communications technology or RF technology that is being mentioned and used in many new technologies these days. Wi-Fi, LTE (3G long term evolution) and many other radio, wireless and RF technologies are using the new MIMO wireless technology to provide increased link capacity and spectral efficiency combined with improved link reliability using what were previously seen as interference paths. Even now many there are many MIMO wireless routers on the market, and as this RF technology is becoming more widespread, more MIMO routers and other items of wireless MIMO equipment will be seen.

[OtherBer-Analysis-Of-Ieee80211n-Mimo-System-Using-Mmse

Description: With the increasing demand of higher data rate for telecommunication, the IEEE802.11n standard was constituted in 2009. The most important character of the standard is MIMO-OFDM, which not only improves the throughput but also the spectrum efficiency and channel capacity. And in wireless communication, the role of MIMO detectors plays an important part to remove inter-symbol interference (ISI) caused by multipath fading channel. In this paper the BER performance of IEEE 802.11n for 3x2, 4x2 and 4x3 antennas are compared using MMSE and ZF detectors in Matlab Simulink.

[Communication-MobileMIMO-OFDM system

Description: Although MIMO techniques are significantly ‘younger’ than OFDM, they also reached a state of maturity and hence the family of recent wireless standards includes the optional employment of MIMO techniques, which motivates the joint study of OFDM and MIMO techniques in this volume. The research of MIMO arrangements was motivated by the observation that the MIMO capacity increases linearly with the number of transmit antennas, provided that the number of receive antennas is equal to the number of transmit antennas. With the further proviso that the total transmit power is increased proportionately to the number of transmit antennas, a linear capacity increase is achieved upon increasing the transmit power. This is beneficial since, according to the classic Shannon–Hartley law, the achievable channel capacity increases only logarithmically with the transmit power. Thus MIMOOFDM may be considered a ‘green’ transceiver solution.
